Dry Strip®
Dry Strip® is a highly efficient duroplast blasting media produced by FDS Drystripping Technology GmbH. It was jointly developed with Airbus and with leading MRO facilities aof the civil and military aviation. Today Dry Strip® is used worldwide to efficiently decoat, clean and deflash sensitive surfaces in the electrical industry, automotive industry and die casting appliances.
Primary customer of Dry Strip® is the aviation and space industry, stripping off paint components of aircrafts, helicopters and engines. In cooperation with our customers we steadily optimise our quality standards. Thus, both quality standards “Airbus Standard” and “Airbus Expert” exceed the requirements of the industrial specification MIL-P-85891A that also apply for Dry Strip®. The table Dry Strip qualities provides further details on our quality standards. We would be pleased to analyse your individual requirements. Please don not hesitate to contact us.
We produce three types of duroplast blasting media, used for different kinds of surface treatments. Managing the entire production process, we can exert a direct influence on product quality and development. Only selected raw materials are used for production. Quality controls and filtering procedures are carried out systematically and on several levels.
As per January 2020, Emsodur AG took over the distribution of the Dry Strip plastic blasting media including the production site FDS Drystripping Technology GmbH. The acquisition of Emsodur, who specialises in the production of plastic blasting and deflashing medias, will enable the company to offer additional plastic and deflashing medias such as polycarbonate (cryogenic deflashing) or polyamide (thermoset deflashing) media.
Flugzeug-Union Süd GmbH continues to improve product quality and capabilites in close cooperation with our customers in the aviation industry. Dry Strip® sets new standards in conserving substrates, optimizing removal rates and consumption and aiming to avoid dust.
For modern aviation appliances we have reduced the metal content up to 50% further to the guidelines of the MIL-P-85891A specification and also down to 10% of the permitted limit – if desired.
We precisely determine the distribution of particle sizes in order to multiply the number of cycles with constant removal rate.
We only use pure and high quality raw material from the European market, to ensure that particles have the appropriate shape and hardness to guarantee an optimum outcome.
Dust can’t be totally avoided but it can be reduced significantly: by choosing the right composition for the granulate.
